Laser Hair Removal AfterCare

What To Expect

After your laser hair removal treatment, it is normal to experience redness and swelling. This can last for a few hours and sometimes up to 2–3 days. The area may also feel similar to a sunburn for a few hours.

Around 5–14 days after treatment, you may notice hair “shedding", which can look like new growth but it is not new hair. You can gently remove these hairs by washing or wiping the skin with a wet cloth or loofah. Please avoid picking or scratching the area.

Your AfterCare Steps

1. Cooling

Cooling may be applied after treatment to help keep the skin comfortable.

2. Soothing Products

You may apply a gentle soothing product, such as aloe vera gel, to calm the skin only if needed.

3. Makeup

Makeup can be used immediately after treatment as long as the skin is not irritated.

4. Sun Protection

Avoid direct sun exposure and use SPF 30+ sunscreen daily to reduce the risk of dark spots (hyperpigmentation).

5. Hair Removal

Do not use waxing, tweezing, electrolysis, or any method that disturbs the hair follicle for 4–6 weeks after treatment. You may shave only between sessions.

6. Underarms

If you had your underarms treated, consider using powder instead of deodorant for the first 24 hours to avoid irritation.

7. Underarms

If you had your underarms treated, consider using powder instead of deodorant for the first 24 hours to avoid irritation.

8. Bathing

You may bathe as usual, but be gentle with the skin for the first 24 hours, similar to caring for a mild sunburn.

9. Skincare

You may resume to your regular skincare routine 24 hours after treatment; however, active ingredients in skincare should be avoided for 3–5 days post-laser to ensure optimal results and skin safety.

When to Return for Your Next Session

Hair regrowth happens at different rates:

  • Upper body: usually within 4–6 weeks
  • Lower body: may take 6-8 months

New visible hair will not appear for at least 3 weeks after treatment.

Book your next appointment as soon as you notice hair returning in the treated area.
